#44: Listen To A Live Discovery Call Review (Bad Call)

Big Announcement
We are now running two founder-led sales cohorts concurrently. One will be focused on B2B mid-market/enterprise sales. The other will be focused on B2C / SMB transactional sales. We are onboarding founding teams for our next FLS B2B cohort, beginning on March 28. We have pushed the start date out to the end of March to allow for more teams to onboard. Unfortunately, the B2C cohort is filled. A new cohort will be announced coming soon.

Two final questions to ask yourself before you book a meeting.

  1. If you are unsure whether you need coaching, you’re probably not ready, and I’d recommend not to book a meeting. If it’s not clear that you need to build out your customer acquisition model and sales GTM to find PMF, Rampd will not be a good fit. It’s a f**k, yeah, or a no. There’s no in-between. If you’re the former, I’d love to talk to you.

  2. If you’re ready to roll and get this thing dialed in, be prepared to make a sizeable investment into your business. If you’re not there or don’t have the financial resources, keep reading the newsletter and come to us if and when you get the green light.

If you’re ready to level up you can book a call with me here.

Today is a real treat. I have a live call review of me providing feedback on a discovery call conducted by one of our clients. This would be considered a bad call. In next week's issue, I will share a good call.

We gauge the success of discovery calls with these benchmarks.

  • Did you identify BANT?

  • Did you follow each step of the talk track?

  • How confident did you sound?

  • Did you incorporate tonality and enthusiasm?

  • Were you able to control the conversation?

  • Did you convey authority?

  • Where did you get hung up?

  • What was your overall assessment of the call?

All sensitive information on both sides has been hidden. My feedback is at the emojis.

Here is the link to the call. Enjoy!

That’s it for today, folks!

See you all next week.

P.S. If you’re ready to level up, you can book a call with me here.
